it's 5 o'clock in the morning.

waking up at 4 am every morning to go to work = not so much fun.
waking up at 4 am on the only day you have to sleep in = insanity.

Currently it's 4:45 AM, and I can't sleep. This brings me back to when I was a little kid... When I knew I was going to Disneyland, the beach, or the next morning was Christmas (or my birthday). I would always go to bed really late and wake up really early. Contrary to popular belief, I was NEVER too tired to enjoy the actual event. Ever since I can remember I've been able to run off little sleep as long as I fit the hours in somewhere else. Hence, me sleeping 18 hours the other day.

Which brings me to the realization- I miss California!!!
I remember on days like this, I'd wake up Guillermo and we'd grab coffee and head down to the beach for sunrise.

I feel like all there is to do here is eat! It's always freezing, there's always snow and ice on the ground, and the sun is never up. The solstice needs to get here quickly! The lack of daylight is what bothers me most. If there were daylight, we could at least snowboard, or do something. At least here we get to sleep in and watch the sunrise!
As much as I complain, come may I bet I'll be complaining about the never-ending sun. The grass is always greener I guess.

I can deal without an actual beach to play in. I can deal without Disneyland. Hell, I can even deal without a decent mall to shop in. One thing thats absolutely going to kill me come April 5th....

no MLB. :( I'm going to miss cheering my Angels on!
But, Alaska isn't all that bad!

Though it's not the sun & sand I prefer, the state of Alaska is gorgeous.

These pictures don't even do any justice to how beautiful the state is. We haven't had much opportunity to play with our camera. For better pictures www.jenhammer.com is def the place to go, like I said before she's pretty amazing with her camera.

Where else (in america) can you see the northern lights?

Or giant moose roaming around your house?
Alaska isn't California by any stretch of the imagination, but it's amazing in it's own way. And i'm sure that when we leave here, I'll miss it too.
